attention or concentration is probably the most important requirement in the development and cultivation of consciousness . The possibilities of properly oriented attention are so amazing that they appear to the uninitiated novice hardly credible.
The cultivation of attention is the distinguishing of every successful man, and every successful woman, and it is the most important personal skill that can be embraced.
The power of attention can be better understood if one compares it with a magnifying glass through which the sun rays are concentrated. They possess no particular strength as long as the motion is moved and the beams are directed from one place to another. Hold the magnifying glass but absolutely calm and focus the rays for a long time for a job, then the action immediately obvious.
So it is with the force and power of thought; disperse that power by thoughts that are moved from one object to another and it is show no result and this energy pack but by long attention or concentration for a certain time on any single target, nothing is impossible.
